55 Young People Arrived in Keszthely for a Youth Exchange

Keszthely hosted an eight-day intensive youth exchange program, bringing together 55 young participants from six countries.

Keszthely hosted an eight-day intensive youth exchange program, bringing together 55 young participants from six countries—Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, and Ukraine—to explore the possibilities of active citizenship, advocacy, and volunteering.

The “Building Skills for Effective Youth Advocacy” Erasmus+ program aimed to equip young people with the skills necessary to become active members of their own communities. The project placed special emphasis on the inclusion of disadvantaged youth: 38 participants with fewer opportunities experienced the event as an inspiring community-building journey.

Topics of the program included the legal and cultural interpretations of citizenship, an introduction to international funding and volunteering opportunities, and the development of advocacy skills. Participants explored European opportunities through the lens of their own countries’ experiences while collaborating in joint workshops.

“This program not only gave me knowledge, but also confidence and motivation,” said one participant from the Vojvodina region of Serbia. The project was implemented with the support of the European Union under the Erasmus+ program.
